Dr. Donald T. Gamble
Veterinarian/Owner
Donald T. Gamble, DVM, was born in Sumter, South Carolina. He attended Erskine College and received a doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia in 1984. He worked in North Myrtle Beach for three years before relocating to Summerville, where he owns and continues to practice at Oakbrook Veterinary Clinic. He served six years on the South Carolina Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners, including a tenure as chairman. Dr. Gamble has been involved in the local and state levels of the Veterinary Medical Association (VMA) and continues to serve his community. He is married to the former Ginny Britton and is the father of Laura Kate and Ben. Included in his family are an Australian Shepherd, Emmy, and a goat, Erwin Rammel.
Dr. E. Todd Benton
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Todd Benton was born and raised in Hampton, South Carolina. He finished high school at Patrick Henry near Estill, S.C. After graduation, he attended The Citadel, where he received a B.S degree in Biology. Veterinary medicine was at the top of his career choices at this point. He then attained a DVM degree from the University of Georgia. Wanting to come beck close to home, he started practicing at Oakbrook Veterinary Clinic in 1999 and remains at that practice to this day. His hobbies include farming and working with heavy equipment.
Dr. Jairus Schumann
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Jairus Schumann was born and raised in Moncks Corner, SC. He received his bachelor’s of science degree in biology from Wofford College. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from UGA’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. He and his wife Sarah moved back to the lowcountry to be closer to friends and family. They enjoy spending time on the water and hanging out with their black lab, Rigby.
